Kinja'd!!!8 Kinja'd!!! 45

Got the body all prepped for paint:

Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!!

Planning on spraying it this weekend (unless I say F-it and take a day off work).

Update:

I got a garage lined up to spray it in, so I’ll be painting Saturday morning.

Nice! Doing an outdoor paint job? Using an HVLP setup or something a bit more exotic/ghetto?

It’ll be in a garage with ventilation. Be spraying with my Devil biss gun so long as the metalflake can flow through it right. If not I’ll have to switch to my old primer bottom feed.

Grab one of the Harbor Freight purple guns. One uses more air and the other can work with a smaller compressor.

For $10 why go bottom feed?

Because I already own it (from before HVLP guns were a thing) and it does a damn good job when the HVLP gun can’t flow enough. ;)

That kind of color scheme on a clearly non-bugatti would be amazing!  Like on a ford aspire or something.

Any issues?

5 speed auto, which was replaced shortly after we bought the truck with a low mileage unit . We have receipts for most/all of the work that’s been done to it.

Drivers door has a small amount of rust on the inside edge , nothing outside.

Needs a carrier for the driveshaft, which I have and will be replacing. 1 small tear in the driver’s seat. Otherwise all is good and working properly.

Asking $15,000, but as all things, it is negotiable.

I honestly don’t get the hate for K’s and their variants. They are an insanely simple, insanely cheap platform to toy with.

Can make one quick and reliable for very little money just mixing and matching parts from different variants. Hence how this car ended up with a 3.0 4-speed, which was never offered in 95.

Now i have to ask where its located... Its what im looking for pretty much. Id like manual but in a 6.0 they are impossible to find almost and I want something newer than my 7.3

I would not presume to know other people’s issues, but getting stuck with one as a new driver to HS certainly is a way to cement discontent with the whole gamut of such cars.  Heh.

The original Ks were a lot of fun stock, but they did the job.

I got my first Acclaim I built from the wife’s dad. Initially, I hated it. Then I did some simple mods (more as a joke than seriously) and realized how easily they come alive. That’s what led to modifying the hell out of it. Roughly $3k later, I had a car that ran with WRXs, Fosts, etc while cracking off 30+mpg, and holding up to continuous abuse. https://oppositelock.kinja.com/thought-id-post-up-my-old-acclaim-build-for-everyone-1823032640

Since that car, I have been hooked on this era Mopar. The simplicity and ease of modifying can’t be beat.

Most of it still has the factory undercoating. Some places it’s came off, but nothing to be concerned with if you’re thinking rust issues.

2004.

Studs, EGR delete, Oil cooler, FICM, new HPOP, along with a bunch of other stuff I can’t recall without digging through the reciepts . Tallied up to around $9k in repairs.

Has and S&B Intake and 4" DP Back Exhaust to help in keeping EGTs down.

2 sets of wheels (OEM steel/chrome, OEM 5-spoke aluminums).

I’ll say there is some wiggle in the price.
